The Public Land Use Committee was created by Town Council Resolution 03-20 in March of 2003 as the successor to the Open Space Committee, originally formed in 1998 at the request of the Council.
Since its original launch in 1998 the Open Space Committee successfully advocated for the protection of lands that enhance the character and quality of life in the town of Franklin. The Public Land Use Committee will continue that work and also work to coordinate preservation of open space and development/maintenance of recreational properties.
