The Historical Commission operates and maintains the Franklin Historical Museum, which opened in the Spring of 2010. Located at 80 West Central Street, in the heart of the downtown, this grand Greek Revival building was formerly home to the Franklin Senior Center, and served as the Town Hall in the 1800s.
Many of the Museum's historical treasures, its artifacts, photographs, and documents of all kinds, were formerly located at the Horace Mann Museum on Waskington St.
The Museum is free to the public, and open year round on:
Every Thursday, 5PM to 8PM (closed on days schools close due to snow)
Every Saturday, 10AM to 1PM
Every Sunday, 1PM to 4PM
Every month on the third Thursday, from 4PM to 8PM, the Museum hosts some special event related to the town's history.
Come join us as we explore a side of Franklin you may not have known about!
