Winter Parking Ban
The annual winter parking ban becomes effective commencing November 15, 2009 at midnight, and runs through April 15, 2010, 1 AM to 5 AM. The purpose of the ban is to allow for snow removal and to assure public ways can be plowed without hindering the DPW. Under normal conditions we allow warnings to be issued up to December 1, 2009, then formal citations after that, including towing of vehicles found to be illegally parked when a storm occurs. Please do your best to comply. In the event that you have a disabled vehicle and need some consideration prior to removing it, please contact the Franklin Police Department and advise us of your problem. Weather permitting, we will attempt to accommodate you. It is imperative that public ways be able to accommodate both plows and public safety vehicles. The
less difficulty plows experience, the sooner the roadways become clear and passable. Your anticipated assistance in this matter is appreciated.
