About this tournament
A fun-for-all event to fundraise for the bright future of Dacey Fields Disc Golf. Experienced and novice players are welcome to join in on the action, with the ability to choose their pool preference based on their experience with disc golf. Three pools (A, B, and C) will compete over one round for cash and prizes based on their registration.
Entry fees and eligibility:
-A Pool: $40 gets you a player's pack with $10 of your entry going to a Top-3 payout.
-B Pool: $30 gets you a player's pack and with a Top-3 finish, you could win the Dynamic Discs Soldier bag and a disc of your choice.
-C Pool: $30 gets you a player's pack and with a Top-3 finish, you could win up to three discs from the prize pack.
The player's meeting starts at 9:30am with a shotgun start at 10:00am. Tournament central will be based at the practice basket on the bottom of the hill by the dog park.
Additional information will be posted as August 16th approaches!

The Recreation Department has constructed an 18 hole disc golf course at Dacey Community Field.  The course features a par 62 blue (professional tees) and red (amateur) tee distances for all abilities.  The course is viewed by avid disc golfers as one of the better disc golf courses in the area.  The course was designed and constructed by Director of Recreation, Ryan Jette and Assistant Town Engineer, Jay Mello.  Jay continues to work on making the course better weekly by organizing a team of volunteers to construct bridges, tee pads, optional basket locations.  For more information about disc golf, please contact the Recreation Department at 520-4909

Mission/Function
The Recreation Department is committed to provide quality recreational programs and facilities to the residents of Franklin.  By providing consistency, dependability and an obligation to our residents and the programs they partake, we strive to elevate the quality of life for our community.

Objectives
The Recreation Department is a service-based department.  We work interactively with local sports associations, school departments, individual Town residents, private groups, church and civic groups, as well as other Town departments.  In the course of a given year, over 8,000 people are affected by Recreation operations.  Our clientele continues to increase each year.  Recreation is responsible for scheduling all fields, playgrounds, and courts.  The Recreation Department continues to serve the residents in the area of recreation and leisure services.  Our department handles everything from sporting activities for children, to families in need.

·       Coordinate recreational activities with the youth sports organizations, school department, and other citizens groups.
·       Better utilize and renovate parks, ball fields, and conservation land within the Town of Franklin.
·        Improve the quality of life and involve residents in recreational programs.
·       Establish new programs as self-supporting and explore ways of generating additional revenue through grants, donations and fundraising.
·       Recreation activities are coordinated through our office, which is comprised of one full time director and one full time clerical staff person.
~The Recreation Advisory Board is looking for additional volunteers who are interested in promoting the planning of programs for Franklin residents.

NEW Refund Policy: Refunds are only issued in the event of a canceled program or if there is a medical emergency with a doctor's note. A $10 fee will be charged for all refunds.

The Recreation Department has established a Program Assistance Fund for all Recreation programs and Franklin Youth Sports programs offered through the Town of Franklin.  The Program Assistance Fund was established with the understanding that there are residents who cannot afford the registration fee and are therefore unable to participate.  The sole purpose of this fund is to find ways to give every child and family the opportunity to participate in recreation activities while providing a mechanism for equitable treatment and optimal accommodation for resident families in need.
The Recreation Department has an application process for families in need of financial assistance with signing their children up for programs.  Please download a copy of the form below and mail/bring to our office at least two weeks prior to close of registration.
