MEN'S CLUB VISITS COLLINGS FOUNDATION
Members travel to Stow, MA to tour exhibits.
In September twelve members of the Franklin Men's Club went to Stow, MA and the headquarters of the Collings Foundation. Founded by Bob Collings, the Foundation was established based on the premise that history should be experienced. It sponsors flights of its WWII aircraft around the country and puts on displays and reenactments at its Stow facility. The members were treated to a personal guided tour of aircraft dating from the Wright brothers to the Korean War along with Indy and 1920's race cars. In another barn they viewed a magnificent collection of classic touring cars including two Stanley Steamers, Packards, Studebakers and others. On October 10th and 11th the Collings Foundation is staging the Battle for the Airfield and Foundation Fall Open
House with WWII re-enactors, planes and vehicles. For more information go to their website, www.collingsfoundation.org. Following their tour, the men enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Horseshoe Pub in Hudson. Guests and prospective members are always welcome at the Franklin Men's Club which meets monthly at the Franklin Senior Center.
