Volunteers enjoy our annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon
The Franklin Senior Center could not operate without the efforts of our 123 volunteers. These volunteers include Cafe workers, Gift Shop clerks, tax preparers, SHINE counselors, friendly visitors, bingo callers, trip coordinators, newsletter collators, and many more. They provided 10,786 hours of service to the Town this year. This contribution by volunteers would be worth a total of $86,288 if paid at the minimum wage. In May, our volunteers were recognized at a luncheon sponsored by the Council On Aging, the Friends of Franklin Elders, the Busy Bees, the Franklin Elks, Tri-Valley Elder Services, and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. The Council on Aging values all our dedicated volunteers who so generously contribute their time.
The Council on Aging has also been the recipient of substantial support from community organizations and local businesses. Without this support, many of our programs and activities would not be possible. We offer our gratitude for their gracious good will and enthusiastic community spirit.
